Android Wear 2.0 to launch in February

Android Wear 2.0 may be only days away, with Google announcing that its OS update will arrive in early February.

Google is sending emails to these developers informing them of the more specific launch time frame for its release so they can prepare their apps so they are compatible with Android Wear 2.0.

Android news website Android Police obtained an email sent to Android developers. The email opens with "Android Wear 2.0 is launching in early February 2017," before going on to list items developers should be aware of when updating existing apps for the update.

That email says the next iteration of Android Wear will be out in early February, and developers should update their apps to take advantage of all the new features. Android Wear 2.0 comes with an on-watch Play Store, the Google Assistant, and many other improvements across the board.

Keep in mind several watch makers recently unveiled new Android Wear watches at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, so it makes sense that Google would hurry the release, as there hasn't been any new devices to showcase the software until now.
