Verizon Wireless announced today that its HD Voice feature (VoLTE) will now be available to those using Verizon  pre-paid service. Customers with VoLTE-enabled phones can add HD Voice to their accounts through their My Verizon portal for no additional charge. Calls are billed in minutes, just as standard calls are billed, both phones need to have HD Voice enabled and be connected to Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

4G LTE cannot support voice calling and in the absence of VoLTE technology ,VoLTE offers as much as three times more voice and data capacity than 3G technologies, enabling higher quality connections, The service also includes one- or two-way video calling, six-way conference calling and Wi-Fi calling

To call with HD Voice, both phones must have HD Voice turned on and be connected to Verizon Wireless’ LTE network. Verizon currently offers 26 HD Voice capable devices in its lineup, including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Note 7, Apple iPhone 6s, Droid MAXX 2, Blackberry Priv, LG G5 and HTC 10.

Google has finally launched its Duo one-on-one video calling application for iOS and Android, Google's response to other popular video calling options, including Apple's FaceTime, Microsoft's Skype and Facebook's Messenger. for download in the Play Store starting at 5:00 AM PST,

The name Duo comes from Google's desire to focus on one-to-one video calling. That's why there is no group calling function, Available in 76 different languages, Google will be rolling out the title to masses starting from today.

Google pitches the app as the most dead simple video calling around. All you need to make a call to someone is a phone number. It seems to be aimed at competing with Facetime. Google says it "makes video calling more spontaneous and welcoming," giving you a sense of what the caller is up to and why they want to chat.

Google uses a protocol called QUIC in Duo that allegedly allows for better video quality than competing video chat services, In addition Duo can adjust call quality based on your network condition. For example, if you get onto a poor connection, the app will drop your resolution to keep the call going smoothly. The app can also automatically switch between Wi-Fi can cellular without dropping the call.

An Apple-designed A10 chip that will power the next iPhone should be outfitted with 3GB of RAM on the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus model, according to previous analyst reports from KGI Securities.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has twice claimed the next 5.5-inch iPhone, tentatively referred to as the iPhone 7 Plus, will carry 3GB of RAM for improved performance, and now DigiTimes echoes that in a new report.

The rumour that iPhone 7 Plus might sport a dual camera at the back has been doing the rounds recently. Now, noted KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo is adding more credibility to the rumours by saying that the dual camera is going to be a must-have on all high-end smartphones

The bank also added Apple may still release a special new color, either black or dark blue, to help distinguish the new phone from earlier launches. That rumor seems to have been debunked, but maybe Deutsche Bank knows something we don’t.

Previously, Kuo said Apple had toyed with the idea of offering two different models — one with the advanced camera, and one without. But Apple ultimately chose to include the high-end camera in all versions of its new 5.5-inch iPhone this year, according to the KGI analyst.
