If you were one of the lucky folks who pre-ordered the unlocked HTC 10 on launch day, Jeff Gordon, HTC’s Senior Global Online Communications Manager, has some good news for you: HTC will officially commence shipping of the unlocked HTC 10 in the US starting next week.

In response to a couple of HTC fans on Twitter who asked about pre-order shipments, Gordon carried on a somewhat evasive conversation about early May shipments and credit card confirmations going out (which we have yet to receive on any front) before finally committing to “unlocked HTC 10 begins shipping in the US next week.

Gordon did not offer any specific rollout date, but his "early May" timeframe confirms that the smartphone will be shipping in less than a month since preorders kicked off on April 14 in the United States.

Other than buying the unlocked version of the smartphone, customers don't really have many options for now, at least not in the United States. Verizon is currently the only U.S. carrier to offer the HTC 10, whereas Sprint will start carrying the device on May 13 both online and in physical retail locations.

In fact, the unlocked HTC 10 works on any GSM network, which means that HTC fans on AT&T and T-Mobile, or any other GSM carrier, can grab the smartphone right now and have it by the end of next week.
